Long Help |
The Dance Calendar US (DCAL) website has an access system where
each member has a level of priviledge that gives them access to
see different types of data and different functionality to change it.
The website attempts to manage the access and privacy needs in a good way.
-
As a social dance community, we want to make it easier to
get to know more about our fellow dancers and make it easier to invite
more dancers to join us.
-
We want to protect contact information from people we don't know well.
-
We want to allow users of the website to have control of what
they are willing to share and with whom.
-
We want guests to participate in surveys, getting our online newsletter,
and helping them to get to know the people they shared a dance with to
encourage them to join us.
-
We want to facilitate sharing information about other dance opportunities
and communities.
To do a balanced job of the above, the website gives everyone
a login and password to access the non public information and features.
They are also given an access or privilege level that entitles them
to different features:
- The special login account that can be used by anyone to
have a guest registration form. This login has the sole access
to that form and has no other access.
- All guests, staff, and everyone who has a login account.
This level grants access to club faqs, brief directory and headshots with
no contact information.
- Add all former and inactive members. Add access to surveys, newsletters, and photo rosters .
- Add full member for current paid members.
Add access to member contact information, more details about couples.
- Add anyone on a dance organization or instructor team that needs to
update reservations and events details.
Add editing capability for events, registrations, bands, and menu items and choices.
- Executive Board. Add visibility to viewing details about billing.
- Add Treasurer and President (handling money).
Add editing and creation of invoices and updating payment status.
- Security Administrator. Adds ability to change logins, passwords, and access.
- System Administrator. Has full access and update capability to all website data.
